I love it when artists are able to blend many different materials into a single piece of artwork so seamlessly. The mixed media works of Rebecca Volynsky include ink, gouache, arcylic paint, thread, gel gloss medium and possibly more. Her pieces are far from confusing and chaotic, however. The compositions are simple and I find them quite calming.

To build upon my love for hand-colored prints from yesterday, I fell for this Jessica Stewart print and its delicate, unique touches. From her listing: “each print is distressed individually, spray painted and drawn on to create a unique mix between a print and new artwork.”  All prints are numbered and signed limited edition pieces that have the same base but grow into individual pieces. Inspiring, to say the least!

 Hand-colored prints are something special, especially so if the edition is small. John Sumrow  made only four of this zombie print and hand-colored each one with acrylic ink, which makes each print completely unique. As of writing this post, two of the four zombie prints are left.
